GUNPOWDER ACCIDENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Monday. A lad named Andy Thorburn, eon of Mr. Wm. Thorburn, of Tararu, narrowly escaped serious injury this afternoon. lb appears that, with another boy, he was playing with some powder, when it suddenly exploded, and severely burnt him about the hands anil face, but fortunately did no injury to his eyes. He was taken to the hospital, where Dr. Payne attended to the injuries, which are not of a very serious character.
