PARUA PUBLIC HALL.
A meeting of the Public. Hall Committee was held in the hall on Saturday, the 28th of July. Present:—Messrs. Ross (chairman), A. Williams, D. Stewart, and R. Howie. Mr. F. Allwood having tendered his resignation as a member of the committee (which was received), the election of a new member to fill his place will take place at the next meeting, on the last Saturday of next month. Mr. D. Stewart was appointed secretary in place of Mr. Allwood. '1 Resolved, "That committee meetings be held monthly, on the last Saturday of the month." The treasurer (Mr. Mallabond) handed: in a slip showing a credit balance in his hands of £8 6s 3£d.*i The chairman stated J that this was not the sum total of their credit, as.several pounds' ' Were in the hands; of'members which had not been handed in to the being the result of the' last three socials. It was decided to continue their social gatherings through the winter the next to be held on or about the 20th of August.— Correspondent.]
