THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.

[BY. telegraph.— press association.] Christcucjrch, Thursday. A meeting of representatives of the Railway League, Chamber of Commerce, and Industrial Association was held to-night, to consider the position of the Midland Railway. Several motions were carried. The principal resolution was, "That this meeting request the Hou. W. P. Reeves and the Canterbury members to wait upon the Hon. the Premier, and intimate to him that Canterbury will be seriously dissatisfied unless some arrangement isarrived at during this session with the Railway Company for the completion of the line, and remind them that all the Canterbury members were pledged at their election to support the railway." The meeting was of a representative nature, and the Mayor presided.
