BESSIE DOYLE'S CONCERT.
The: City Hall was nob only crowded last evening to hear Bessie Doyle, bub a stampede took place for seats. Had the whole of the hall been reserved, the seats would in all probability, have been taken up. And the enthusiasm was immense. Miss Doyle was recalled vociferously for every item. Sarasate'e " Gypsy Dance," a cavatina by Raff, Wieniawski'a " Legende," and " Alice Where Art Thou." She also took part in a Serenata by Braga, the vocal part being taken by Miss Best, and in " Home Sweet Home" sung by the whole company. Mr. Mackenzie, who can sing Scotch songs as few can, gave " Bonnie Prince Charlie," "The Bugler," and "The Cameron Men," Miss Kate Best sang with effect "In My Lady's Bower." Miss Doyle received throughout a tremendous ovation. In compliance with special request Miss Doyle and the Company will give one performance at Onehunga to-morrow (Wednesday) evening, and will leave for New Plymouth on Thursday.
