Recently, in Crieff, Scotland, there were exposed for sale upwards of 600 trees which had been blown down by the late hurricane on the Druminond Castle estate, belonging bo the Earl of Ancaster. There was a large attendance of buyers, this being accounted for by the fact that some of the finest timber in Perthshire was for sale, consisting of oak, beech, sweet and horse chestnut, ash, elm, plane, larch, pine, birch, lime, spruce, Scotch fir, etc. The bidding throughout was, however, stiff, and on an average each tiro© only brought 12s 4d, or about a fourth less than ib would have brought previous to November.
