ONSLOW TROTTING CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING. The resucitation of the Onslow Trotting Club, which was popularly supposed to have ceased to exist a couple of years ago, created some surprise, and the announcement of an autumn meeting for Saturday afternoon was considered a. somewhat experimental arrangement. Several bookmakers were ordered off the course for default of payment of fines previously imposed. In one instance there was a dispute with regard to a sweepstake which had been got up on the course, but after investigating the matter the police did not think it necessary to interfere. The following are the results of the races : Handicap Maiden Trot of 20aovs. For all noises that have never won an advertised race exceeding £10 in value. Saddle or harness. One mile. In this and succeeding races the letter H. stands for harness horse, and S. for saddle horse, and it must be remembered that all the handicaps are behind toe scratch horse. 66—Mr. E. Nat soon took the lead, and was a length in front of John S. when passing the stand the first time. It was evident throughout that the saddle horses had all the best of it, and Nat maintaining his I«ad, won easily by thirty or forty lengths. Time, 3m. 4s. Dividend, £110*. There was a dispute regarding the start of thi< race, several people stating that Mr. Foley did not drop the flag, but as he had, at all events, given the word " off," thb stewards declined to allow the race to be run over again. Gillie led to the back of the course, where he was challenged by Coquette 11., but The Dovo, coming with a big rush in the home turn, passed the leaders, and answering well to every call in the straight, won comfortably by a length. Dividend, £29 ss. " Racegoer" writes, questioning the correctness of the dividend paid on Peggy, in the Huia Trot Handicap, at the Onslow Trotting Club's Meeting on Saturday. There being 153 investors on the machine—two on the winnerthe dividend paid,, the lucky ones should have been about £5 more than it something like £34 Bs, instead of £29 ss.
