NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. The cash returns for the railways for the 12 months ending 31st March, 1894, give a. gross revenue of £1,176,000. As the Commissioners expect not to exhaust the amount voted for expenditure by £5000, the nett cash result will be within £2000 of the return estimated at tho-beginning of the year (£448,000), or nearly three percent, on the capital value of the railways, which capital value was considerably increased during the year by the opening of unprofitable extensions.
