IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.
[BY TKLKQRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. The Trade Review gives the approximate figures for the March quarter. The imports for the period totalled £1,834,180 in value, as against £1,782,971 in the corresponding period of 1893, this difference, £50,000 odd, being almost accounted for by the specie imported in March of this year. Taking the returns for the year ending March 31 last, the imports, exempting specie and parcels post, totalled £3,310,763 in the North Island, and £3,160,181 in the South Island, a total of £6,470,944. In 1892-93 the imports totalled £6,575,833; in 1891-92. £6,602,677, and in 1890-91, £6,026,875. The exports for the quarter just ended amounted to £3,984,157, and for the corresponding period of 1893 to £3,636,107. For the year ending March 31 last, the exports, including specie and parcels post, were £9,332,340; in 1892-93, £9,217,596 ; in 1391-92, £9,741,415, and in 1890-91, £9,804,658.
