The Commission of Inquiry is sitting bo investigate certain complaints of unfair treatment made by Mr. Charlton, who has resigned the office of Government veterinary surgeon, against the head of the Agricultural Department, Mr. Ritchie. Mr. Charlton was one of the two veterinary experts recently imported from England. The Commissioners are—Dr. McGregor (Inspector of Asylums), Mr. J. B. Heywood (Secretary to the Treasury), and Mr. Warburton (Public Trustee).
