April 18.—Suited yesterday : Wairampa, s.s., for Hobart and the Bluff. WELLINGTON. April 18.—Arrived : Rotor s.s., from the South; Stormbird, s.s., from Wanzanui; Penguin, s.s., from Nelson, via Picton. Sailed: Hub, s.s., for VVanganui ; Wainui, s.s., for Picton, Nelson, and the West Coast; Rotorua, 8.8., from Nelson.
PORT CHALMERS. April Sailed: Te Anau, s.s., for Sydney, via the East Coast. Passengers : Misses Allen, Penny, Simpson (2), Peacock, Broad, McGeaohie, Mesdames Allen, Bell and child, Monson and two children, Newrick, Duuwoodie, Hodgkins, Simseu, Beaveu and two children, Messrs. Vanderbyle, Davey, Thome. Boileau, Hughes, Perry (2), Begg (2), Disgens, McFailane, Bowman, Lucy, Riohardson, Monson, Rev. and Mrs. Pinfold and family (4), and 15 in the steerage.
THE WRECK OF THE KIWI. Wellington, April 18.—A preliminary in quiry into the foundering of the s.s. Kiwi was held before tbe Collector of Customs today, when the evidence of Captain Campbell, Mr. Decker (ohiel officer), and Mr. Greenwood (chief engineer), was taken. The papers have been forwarded to the Marine Departmeat.
THE DUKE OF WESTMINSTER. London. April 17.—The s.s. Duke of Westminster left Las Palmas for here on the 14th instant. The refrigerator has worked well, and the dairy produce is in good order.
THE CARRADALE. London, April 17.—The steamer Carradale left Rio de Janeiro for London on the 10th instant, THE TONGARIRO. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Tongariro, which left Loudon for this port on March 1, may be expected to arrive to-morrow. On discharge of cargo she proceeds South to load for London.
