" TeAwamutu, Monday. A. very interesting meeting in connection with the Maori Missions was held in ths Public Hall on Friday night. There was a very good attendance. The meeting was addressed by . the Rev. Hauraki Paul and other native ministers, accompanied by the Rev. W. Warren, who gave a succinct and interesting - account of the work of the mission froin its commencement to the present day. With them were the three Maori youths formerly belonging to the Three Kings College, Auckland, who with hymns, glees, and songs, rendered both in Maori and English, largely contributed to the evening's enjoyment. , Possessing a fair knowledge of English, the various speakers were enabled to interest a mixed audience of Europeans and Maoris, and the incidents and mauner of their reception amongst the Maoris was listened to with general attention and sympathy. The party, has been making a tour through the Upper Waikato, and have come northward from Mokaa, Te Kuiti, and Otorohanga. Oxford-Cambridge Road : The water-tables and many of the culverts and pipes require attention. Slips on the road near Oxford should be removed. Te Aroha-Lichfield Road: The cuttings require to be widened and cut down between Lichfield and Pufcururu and the road atPutururu must be made fit for traffic. The outfall at Clark's, near To Aroha, should be cleaned out. ThamesWaikatoßoad: Several places on this road require repairs, especially at McCarthy's Larkworthy's, Larney's. i.nd at the Rocks and Avenue, near Morrinsville.
