THE BANK NOTES BILL IN NEW SOOTH WALES.
— ■+ Press Association.— Telegraph.— ' Sydney, January 6., The Government intend to press on the - Bank Notes Issue Bill when Parliament meets. » ; London, January 6. The Financial News speaking of the banking legislation in New South Wales, laughs at Sir G. R. Dibbs' attempted analogy between Australian and Bank of England notes as far fetched. The Financial Times says the debate exhibited great ignorance on the part of some of the speakers. Mr. Macmillan, for instance, was evidently unaware that the Bank of England has nine branches issuing notes payable in gold thereat.
