A DETERMINED ACT, At the Police Courb yesterday morning, before Messrs. R. Hobbs and J. McLachlan, J.P.'s, a young woman named Annie Dunn was charged with having on the 3rd ol January, unlawfully and maliciously broker a pane of glass of ..the value ot 60s, the property of Henry Morton. The accused pleaded guilty. Sergeant Gamble saic thab ab half-paab ten the previous evening the accused Wfes in company with a man ii Wellealey-streeb. When near Mr. Morbon'f shop, she took off one of her boots anc smashed the window, ab the same time expressing her intention of similarly treat ing every window in the street. The young woman, however, was prevented from doing further damage by the appearance of Con stable McDonald, who arrived on the scene and took her into custody. The Bene! remarked that the accused had a bac record for so young a person, having be tween 30 and 40 different convictions againsb her. They fined her £5, and ordered her to pay the cosb of the glass, with the alternative of two months im prisonmenb with hard labour.
