LAND SALE.

A PUBLIC sale of the balance of the town lands at Pokeno, Manukau County, re-clasai-fied by the Lands Board as suburban lands, was held yesterday at the Lauds Office, Mr. G. Mueller, Commissioner, officiating as auctioneer. There was a fair attendance, and the* competition was good, many of the lots bringing largely in excess of the upset price, but in other cases there were no bids. The following are the results of the sale:— Lot 222, 5a 2r 24p, upset price £12, and Lot 224, 8a 3r 12p, upset price £8, were bought by W. H. Dean at the upset price. Lot 272, 4a3r 2p, offered at the upset price of £10. was bought by Mr. Richard Brooks. Lot 274 a, 3r 20p, upset price £2, was bought by Mr. W. Frost for £4. Lot 275, 3a 2r 280, upset price £8, was bought by Mr. Wm. Frost for £10 ; and lot 276, 2a 2r 32p, was bought by the same purchaser at the upset price £6, Lot 280, 2a Or 38p, offered at the upset price £4 10s, was bought by Mr. D. Chapman for £11 10s. Lot 281. 3 a, upset price £6, was purchased by Mr. Wm. Frost at £6 10s. Lot 282, 2a 3r, upset price £6, was also bought by Mr. Frost for £10 10s. Lot 284, la 3r 29p. upset price £4, was bought by Wm. McGill ; and lot 289, 5a Or 7p, upset price £1010s, was bought by Mr. W. H. Dean at that price, Seventeen lots remain unsold.
