A TOWN DESTROYED.
GREAT LOSS OF PROPERTY.

Washington, August 29. A terrible cyclone devastated North and South Carolina, destroying in its course Savannah, a seaport of thirty thousand inhabitants, and much of the shipping in the harbour.
A cyclone raged in Georgia, as well as in adjacent States. Forty persons were kiiled, and ten million dollars worth of damage done.
