THE MINERS' STRIKE.
Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.— ' London, August 21. The miners in Ebbu Vale, Monmouthshire, are working on the sliding scale. The neighbouring villages desire to imitate this course. The presence of the military and the energy of the magistrates prevented the proposed attack on the workers at Ebbu Vale yesterday. London, August 22. A number of collieries in South Wales have resumed work under the protection of the troops.
