LANDSLIP AT BIRKENHEAD.
Thk residents of Birkenhead and surrounding districts, who are now suffering so much inconvenience through tho reccft landslip, have decided to temporarily ova-come tho difficulty by taking the matter Into their own hands, and under tho supervision of the Mayor and Council intend to hold a gigantic working-bee," with lie object of forming a temporary road to meet immediate wants. The " bee" is o be held to-morrow (Thursday), at eilht a.m., weather permitting, and all voluntary workers are invited to assist. Harrows, picks, and shovels will be found for those unable to supply their ovn tools, luncheon is to be provided for a ( l workers by the ladies of tho district. Tloae whoso sympathy is with tho movement, but who are by business engagement* debarred from giving their personal services, may either supply a substitute or forward their donations to Mr. C. E. Buttonj the Mayor, or to Mr. E. J. White. Should (ho weather prove unfavourable to-morrow (he 11 work-ing-bee" will be postponed frou day to day until a favourable opportunity <ccurs.
