London, August '2. In the match the Australians against the cembined Universities, the Australians were all out for 81.'!. Turner made SG: Giffen, 62 : Farmer did not give a chance. The whole of the University team except Gay had a try at bowling.
On resuming to-day the weather wa-» again tine. There was a good attendance, and the wicket was playing well. The Universities in their first innings scored 191, the principal scorers being Forster, 43; Wilson, .'ii ; Ran jib Singhi. 44. Having to follow on the Varsity men have lost one wicket for 82. Limlley knocked up 33, and Bambridge is 42, not out.
London, August 3. The Standard referring to the stand of the Australians in the University match considers that it has set a seal on their fame, and that the team ia now entitled to rank with the teams sent home in ISS2 and 1881.
