New Zealand Herald Office. Wednesday evening. Thf. Customs duties to-day amounted to £2307 3s 9d. Messrs, S. Cochrane and Son sold by auction today the lease for 21 years of the Hospital reserve at Epsom, containing 14 acres and 36 perches. The price realised was £45 per annum.
KAURI GUM MARKET. The following is the report of the cum market and ruling quotations, as furnished to us by the committee of gum merchant* : — Ordinary £49 Poor ordinary £36 to £45 East Coast £70 Supplies from Ist inst. to date, 190 tons. Better lots of ordinary, well-cleaned, arc worth from £50 and upwards, according to quality ami degree of cleaning. There has been a pood demand the past week, aud supplies being rather small, prices have somewhat advanced.
