The attendance was over 2000, and the sport proved very interesting. W. West cleared 10 feet 2 inches in the Pole Jump, the competitor constituting a New Zealand record. W. J. 8. Hayward lowered the One Mile Bicycle record to 2m. 35 2-55.; T. C. M. Rallenshaw the Quarter-mile record to 38 l-ss. Two Mile Walking Match : A. H. Andrews, 15yds, 1 : F. Joynt, 170 yds, 2. The winner, who is only sixteen, walked splendidly throughout, and won by five yards. Time, 16m. 13 2-ss. One Mile Bicycle Handicap : C. H. Jones, 180 yds, 1; H. 11. Demy, 80yds, 2; W. J. S.
