[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christciiujicii, Saturday.—The weather was lovely for the second day's sports in connection with the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club, the track being in splendid order and capable of fast time. The attendance was over 2000, and the sport proved very interesting. W. West cleared 10 feet 2 inches in the Pole Jump, the competitor constituting a New Zealand record. W. J. 8. Hayward lowered the One Mile Bicycle record to 2m. 35 2-55.; T. C. M. Rallenshaw the Quarter-mile record to 38 l-ss. Two Mile Walking Match : A. H. Andrews, 15yds, 1 : F. Joynt, 170 yds, 2. The winner, who is only sixteen, walked splendidly throughout, and won by five yards. Time, 16m. 13 2-ss. One Mile Bicycle Handicap : C. H. Jones, 180 yds, 1; H. 11. Demy, 80yds, 2; W. J. S. Hayward, scratch, 3. Won after a fine race by ten yards, Hayward twenty yards away, lime of winner, 2m. 32 2-os. Quarter-mile Flat (Ladies' Bracelet) : M. J. Lccren (24yds), 1; W. Beadel (18yds), 2; L. Matson (17yds), 3. About thirty started. The event was won after a good race by two yards. Time, 52 2-sth s. 120 yds Flat Maiden :A. E. Lingard,l; H. H. Alison, 2. Won by two yards. Time, 12 4-sth s. Pole Jump: W. West (scratch), 10ft 2in, 1 ; A. C. Dunlop (Ift Sin), 10ft Sin, 2. One Mile Flat Handicap : C. Nives (75yds), 1; C. R. Clarke (10yds), 2 ; J. S. Middleton (150 yds),' 3. A pretty race, and won by five yards. Time, 4in. 37a. 120 yds Handicap : E. A. Robinson (4|yds), 1; A. E. Lingard (GJyds), 2;' R. Hayward (6yds), 3. Won by two yards. Time, 12a. 120 yds Hurdle Handicap (hurdles 3ft 6in high) : E. F. C4rigg (owes 4ycls), 1 ; J. L. Carl, 2. The winner finished beautifully; and won by a foot. Time, 18 l-sth s. Quarter-mile Bicycle Handicap : H. H. Denby (40yds), 1; W. J. Williams (45yds), 2; T. C. M. Rallinshaw (scratch), 3. A good race. Time of winner, 37m. l-sth s. Rallinshaw's time was 38m. l-sth s., a New Zealand record. Half-mile Flat Handicap : L. R. Crosbie, 80yds, 1: J. Murphy, 85yds, 2; C. Rides, 40yds, 3. Won by 2yds, about 20yds between second and third. Rees (scratch) finished a foot behind third man. Time, lm. 58 l-sth s. Qnarter-mile Hurdle Handicap, 10 fights, 3 feet high : M. Bead, 17yds, 1; L. C. Dunlop, 40yds, 2; 11. B. Slack, 30yds, 3. Won by a yard, a foot dividing the second and third. Time, 60s. Hayward, with the assistance of Rallinshaw as pace-maker, then attempted to lower the Half-mile Bicycle record for "Mew Zealand. He rode splendidly, and completed the distance in lm. 144-sths., which beats the previous heat by 7m. l-sth s. He was heartily cheered for his splendid riding. 250 yds, flat, for schools: A. E. Linsard (Christ's College, 1; S. H. Piercy (Christ's College), 2. Won by five yards. Time, 28 l-ss. Officials Race, 75yds : A. Turton, 7yds, 1; J. Way, 7yds, 2. Won by a yard. Time, 7 3-ss. In this race L. A. Cuff beat the standard by —running the distance in Bs. 120 yds Hurdles, three feet high, for schools: E. F. J. Grigg (Christ College), 1 ; E. Cholmondeley (Christ's College), 2. Won easily. Time, 1G 3-ss. 75vds Flat Handicap: A. Thompson, BJyds, 1; R. -Hayward; 4£yds, 2. . Won by a yard. Time, 7 4-ss.
