| STRATFORD AND MANAIA. i The Eomost Farmers' Union, Limited, report on October 15:—Oar sale at Stratford on Friday, the 14th instant, was a large I one in point of entries of cattle, but was j poorly attended with buyers, and even those I present did not evince any eagerness to purchase, the shortness of feed being the principal reason. Still, despite these drawbacks. we sold a few lines under the hammer at the following prioes : — 18 • mouths to 2 • year steers, £2 16s to £3 4s 6d : cows and heifers in calf, £3 to £3 16a. We had a remarkably good sale at Manaia on Wednesday, the 12th instant, a good more of interest being displayed by buyers than has hitherto been the case. Our yards were fairly well filled with cattle of a medium class, besides which we had about 1000 sheep that came in unexpectedly. There was a good attendance and brisk bidding, so that, with very lew exceptions, every line of sheep and cattle changed hands before leaving the yards. During the week we sold several lines of fat stock, at prices ranging from £6 10s to £6 15s. We quote: Store bullocks, £4 lis to £5; two-year steers, £3 12s 6d to £3 18s; 18 months steers, £2 9s to £2 183 6d; fat cows, £4 to £6 6s; cows in calf and springing. £3 17s 6d to £5 12s 6d: empty heifers, £2 lis to 4:3 9s. Sheep : Ewes and lambs, lis sd; hoggets, lis 3d; hoggets (culls), 7s 6d. AUCKLAND STOCK. AND MINING ASSOCIATION.
