The ship is intended for the New York and Portland, Or., trade.

The four-masted barque Olympic is said to be the only vessel of her kind in existence. She was built for the lumber trade round the Horn. The peculiar features of the Olympic are her queer rigging and the clear space on the main deck, 130 feet between the fore and aft houses, capable of holding 500,000 feet of lumber, and the ability of the craft to sail without a pound of ballast. When she sailed from Bath, where she was built, the only freight aboard was a kedge anchor and nine fenders, and she carried easily her 8000 feet of canvas. ARRIVAL OF THE WARRIMOO.
