A leap-year ball was held at the residence of Mr. Trimble, Clover Park, on Wednesday evening, and, tot may be expected when the Jadies had the management, was a great success. The granary, in which the ball was held, was most artistically decorated with flowers and evergreens, and was greatly admired, and quite eclipsed all Srevious attempts made by the bachelors, 'he room was just comfortably filled, so that dancing was carried on with pleasure, and all seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. The company were favoured in having two competent M.C.'s, Miss Trimble and Miss Clarke discharging the duties of that important office in a manner that gained general approval. An excellent supper was served up by the ladies about 12 o'clock, after which dancing was again resumed, and was carried on with vigour until, four o'clock. The music was supplied by Messrs. Thompson and Brown, and gave satisfaction.
