I ■—.— I [from OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS. I Hamilton, Friday. The annual meeting of the Hamilton Cricket Club was held last night, when there were 17 members present. Mr. George Edgecumbe was voted to the chair. The balance-sheet showed a small debit balance, though the assets of the club are considerably more than its liabilities, and the club was shown to be !in a very flourishing' Condition. Mr. Lake, M.H.R., was elected patron; Mr. George Edgecumbe, president; and Messrs. »Isaac Uoates, L. 0 Weill, N. R. Cox, and Thomas Buxton, vice-presidents. Mr. C. G. Knox was re-elected hon. secretary and treasurer, and Messrs. T. G. Sandes, Stevens, Barton, Palairet, and Fielder, a general committee. Mr. W. N. Von Sturmer was re-elected captain, and Mr. C. J. W. Barton deputy captain. The subscription of the club was fixed at 7s 6d per annum, and the club's colours to be blue and white. The captain and deputycaptain were appointed delegates to the Cricket Association. Several new members, were elected, and it was decided to open the season with a match married v. single, to come ■off at an early date. Mr. J. M, Nicol's three entires ? Gipsy King, Mountaineer, and General Fleming, who were paraded at the sale yesterday, attracted a great deal of attention during the day, and very favourable comments were passed on their appearance by settlers from aft parts of the district. The latter especially, a magnificent animal standing over 17 hands, received considerable notice. r>
