CARRIAGE OF RACEHORSES.

[by TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. A deputation, consisting of the Hon. G. McLean (M.L.C.), Captain Russell, Messrs. Wilson, Guinness, Eraser, Fergus, Mitchelson, Lawry, Fish, Carncros3, and Blake, waited on the Railway Commissioners today, urging that rates for the carriage of racehorses, trainers, and jockeys, en route to race meetings, should be reduced. It was pointed out that the exhibits for Agricul tural and Pastoral Associations had this concession. The Commissioners agreed to consider the matter and forward an official reply.
