BIRTHDAY HONOURS.
MR. BUCKLEY MADE A K.C.M.G. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.-Copyrvht. London, May 24. Amongst the Birthday honours it is announced that Prince George of Wales is created Duke of Cork, Earl of Inverness, and Baron Ivillarney. The Hon. J. C. Abbott, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Judae Manning, New South Wales, and the Hon. P. A. Buckley, Colonial Secretary, New Zealand, are made K.C.M.G.'s. Mr. George Louis Adolphus Bernays, Queensland, is created a K.M.G. Sir H. -J. Selwin-Ibbitson and Sir Evelyn Baring have been raised to the Peerage : and Mr. J.C.Abbott, Premier of Canada, lias been made a K.C.M.G. Mr. Louis Brennan, inventor of the torpedo which bears his name, lias been created a C.B. Wellington, Wednesday. Lord Knutsford has cabled to the Acting Governor announcing that the Hon. 1. A. Buckley has been created a Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. L George.
