DROWNING ACCIDENT AT WAITARA.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.! New Plymouth, Wednesday. Mr. Shaw, second engineer, Waitara Freezing Works, was drowned at six o'clock this morning off' Waitara. He was engaged in putting frozen meat on board the Rimutaka. Whon getting from the steamer to the punt the rope slipped, and Mr. Shaw and another man named Lye fell into the sea. The latter was saved, but Mr. Shaw was drowned. The body has been recovered.
