Tin: announcement c the death of Brother ]). 11. Macarthur, X.H.K. tor Rangitikei district, was received with sincere regret in Masonic circles in Auckland. Brother Macarthur hud a cohni.d reputation, not only as a consistent politician but as a Mason, and he held th; important position of Deputy Grand Master of New Zealand under Brother Thomson, he I'.G.M. of the New Zealand Constitution. He was spoken of as a candidate for die position of M. W.G. M., but he declined to accept office, and was a supporter of the san'lidatnre of Brother M. Miccol, the [resent _ Grand Master of the New Zealant Constitution. Yesterday Brother Niccol, or behalf of tho Grand Lodge, forwarded a teegram of condolence to Brother H. J Williams, the Grand Superintendent of Vellington, and instructed him to place a wreath on the coflin on behalf of the Grind Lodge. Ho also forwarded a dispensation to Lodge Manawatu, Kilwinning, to ittend the funeral of the deceased brother In regalia. The Ara, St. Andrew, and otheilodges in Auckland sent special telegrams if condolence to the R. W.M. of the local lodjc.
