THE TAKAPUNA J'CKEY CLUB'S MAY MEETING.
The acceptances received last night by Mr. Wynyard in connection with the Takapuna Jockey Club's Wiuter Meeting turned out to be of a most satisfactory character ; and with fine weather on Queen's Birthday the gathering will no doubt attract a very large attendance, as there is plenty of material in the programme for an excellent afternoon's sport. The privileges in connection with the Takapuna Jockey Club's Winter Race Meeting, to be held on Takapuna racecourse on Tuesday next (Queen's Birthday), were sold by Messrs. D. Tonka and Co., yesterday, at the Brunswick Mart. The prices realised were as follow Grand stand bar, £20, F. F. Purcell; sole right for publicans' booths (outside), £35, P. F. Purcell; sole right for lefresnment stalls, £3, Mrs. Mcintosh; the cards, £15. Scott Printing Co. ; the gates, £60, A. Alison. It was announced by the auctioneer that the privileges in connection with the forthcoming meeting of the Auckland Racing Club, on June 4th and 6th, would be sold on Friday, the 27th instant, aud the privileges for the Pakuranga Hunt Club's Meeting, to be held at Ellerslie on Saturday, June 11, would be sold at Bruns wick Mart, on Wednesday, June Bth.

The Pakuranga Hunt Club is to the fore with a capital programme for their meeting to be held atEllerslie on Saturday, the lltn of June. The programme consists of seven events, showing added money to the extent of £280, which sum has been distributed as follows Handicap Hurdle Race of 55sovs, two miles ; Handicap Pony Race of 'iOsovs, three-quarters of a mile; Welter Handicap of 35sovs, seven furlongs: Hunt Club Steeplechase of 75sovs, about three miles: Ladies' Bracelet of 15.sovs, one mile and a distance; Tally-ho HandicaD Steeplechase of 50sovs, about two miles, Handicap Maiden Hurdle Race of 30sovs, one mile and a-half. Nominations are due on the 27th instant at Mr. H. H. Hayr's office, City Chambers. It is stated that Vogengang has been backed for more money than any other horse engaged in the New Zealand Cup.
