Chkistcijuuch, Tuesday. News has been received here that the ketch Clematis encountered a terrific gale on the voyage from Haveloek to Lvttelton, as already reported. Two men were washed overboard, and the sails, bowsprit, and boat were carried away. The men lost are named Baber and Smith. The vessel was laden with timber. The cargo was insured, but the vessel was uninsured. She put into Port Underwood for repairs. In reference to the telegram stating that a quantity of red pine, supposed to bo from the ketch Comet, came ashore at Island Bay and Happy Valley, Messrs. Cook Brothers, the owners of the Comet, state that she had no red pine on board. They expect that she lias sought shelter in Port Underwood or Guard Bay.
