Press Association.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright. A SYDNEY SCANDAL. Sydney, September 3. In the Divorce Court to-day, a decree absolute was granted in the case of W. McMillan (ex-Colonial Treasurer) versus Mrs. McMillan, with costs, against Brian Darley (actor), the co-respondent. An affidavit of intervention was filed by the editor of a weekly paper, on the grounds that the decree nisi was obtained contrary to justice, the Judge had refused the intervener access to the papers, on the grounds that he was not a party to the case.' The intervention was disallowed, and the Court directed the editor not to publish the evidence in the case. FIRE IN MELBOURNE. Melbourne, September 3. Burston's five-storey malt house in Flinders-street was partially destroyed by fire to-day. The damage is estimated at £10,000. The premises were insured for over £9000. THE FEDERATION BILL. Melbourne, September 3. The House has agreed to the report of the committee on the Federation Bill. On the question that the Bill be referred back to the Legislative Council the Premier stated that when finally passed the measure would be submitted to the electorates.
