W AIKATO HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

[by telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT. ] Hamilton, Wednesday. At the Hospital meeting to-day there were present Messrs. A. Primrose, Chepmell, Heaney, Hanmer, Clements, Brown, McPhcrsou, McQuirk, Lang, Auderson, and Soddon. A letter from the man 11. F. Fitzpatrick, of Cambridge, recently expelled from the Hospital, was read asking for relief. A resolution was passed that 5s per week be granted to Fitzpatrick on the approval of Mr. Clements. A second letter from the same man was read containing a formulated complaint against the medical man, one of the nurses, and the committee ot management. Mr. Seddon, as one of the management at the hospital when Fitzpatrick was expelled, stated that the man was a perfect terror to nurses and all who were brought into connection with him. The Chairman stated thatalready the out-door relief to Cambridge recipients amounted to £90 per annum, while the Cambridge contribution to the Board's fund was £49 10s. Mr. Clements explained that some persons receiving relief in Cambridge had come from other parts of the district. The clerk reported that a sum of Jt'so had been paid by the Raglan County, and that a further sum of £40, the balance of its contribution, would be paid in time to secure the subsidy. The secretary's report showed an expenditure of £209 for the month, as follows Salaries and wages, £56 4s : out-door relief, £15; interment, £2 7s 6d : rent office, £3 5s ; rates, endowments, £1 19s; fencing, £3; fuel, £10 lis 3d; drugs, £10 7s 2d; repairs to Muiless' house, £10 lis 3d; other ordinary expenses, £87 19s 9d. Complaints having been received from the doctor of the quality of the milk, it was resolved to give notice to the contractor that the milk must yield 10 per cent, of cream or pure milk would be bought and charged to the contractor. The Board visited the hospital before sitting, with a view to seeing for themselves what further accommodation was needed. The chairman said £230 per month was needed for ordinary expenses, leaving £600 for buildings. There was £116 due yet on the dining-room contract, leaving about £500 for other buildings. Mr. Lang moved that the money be voted to carry out the architect's original plans, viz., two additional wards as well as the dining-room. Mr. McGuirk seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously after a short discussion. It was resolved that the secretary communicate withDrs. Haines and Mackellarto know whether Hey would act as examiners for the passing of Waikato Hospital nurses for certificates. It was also resolved to allow each nurse going to Auckland for examination two guineas for her expenses.
