A NUISANCE.

TO THE EDITOR. , Surely the City Council should be prosecuted for allowing a nuisance to exist on their premises,. but I surmise that their own offices will not lay an information against them.' I refer to the urinal erected at the corner of Ponsonby and Karancahape Roads. Protests were made at the time of erection, but no notice was taken. However, it is quite time the nuisance was removed, for during the short time of its existence it has proved to be a veritable disgrace. : The effluvia exuding from it is sickening to passers-by, and at this - corner especially there is a large traffic. I protest in the name of common decency and of the health of the people of the district who have • occasion to pass that spot, to being treated to a scent-box of this character during the summer months, soon to come upon us. I trust, Sir, that your influence may be used to stimulate the Council to action, and remove this convenience to a less inconvenient place.—l am, &c., Ponsonby. A. Osborne Knight.
