HOSPITAL PATIENTS AND NURSES.
At its meeting yesterday afternoon the Auckland Hospital nnd Charitable Aid Board adopted the following recommen- • dationa from tho House Committee relative to the treatment of accident patients and the training of hospital nurses :—" 1. That minor accident crises, nob necessitous, . taking advantage of tho hospital, pay a fee oj 10s 6d for first treatment, and be then ! discharged to be treated by their own medical men ; and that necessitous urgent ! cusea receive first treatment only at the 1 hospital, and bo then referred to the office ! for an order for the dispensary doctor. 2. That woekly lectures be given to probationore by tho lady superintendent, and also by one of tho resident medical staff, suitable text books to ba provided for study, and tho syllabus to be prepared by tho honorary medical stuff. 3. Thatexami- , nations of probationers with a view of granting certificates of competency be held by tho honorary visiting staff in June and . December. 4. That all applicants for , employment us probationers bo required to . furnish a medical certificate of physical fitness for the work of a hospital nurse.
