THE AUCKLAND BOOTMAKERS STRIKE.

Christchurch, Monday. The visiting committee of the Trades and Labour Council, who recently interviewed the Employers Association with reference to settling of tho Auckland bootmakers' strike, at their meeting to-night adjourned to enable both parties to obtain fuller information from headquarters. The Trades Council have resolved to communicate with the Government re the protection duty on the class of boots made in the colony, as an Auckland firm are arranging to import instead of manufacturing as heretofore.
