THE NATIVE LAND LAWS COMMISSION.
[BY telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.] . ; ~ Wellington, Wednesday. Some surprise is manifested that the reports of tho Commissioners have nob yet reached the Government, and consequently not been 1 .forwarded to the Governor. I learn from tho : best authority that the delay is causing some inconvenience. The position is this. Two of - the Commissioners sent in their report to the Native Minister more than a week - ago. It was announced that the third Commissioner intended to send in a separate report. Various reasons were assigned for this mode of proceeding. The Native Minister, however,' had promised to have the Native Bills in such a state of preparation that the}' could be circulated before the session of Parliament. The third Commissioner has not yet sent in his separate report, so that the Bills cannot be drafted, and are consequently dolayed, possibly until after the meeting of Parliament. ,
