THE POPULATION OF CAPE COLONY.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Thursday. The Government have received a cablegram from the Hon. James Munro, Premier of Victoria, stating that he had been requested by the Premier of the Cape Colony to state that the census returns of that colony were complete, and gave a population of 377,000 Europeans, and 1,147,000 coloured people, making a total population of 1,524,000.
