THE AUXILIARY FLEET.
ADMIRAL SCOTT AND THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT.
STRAINED RELATIONS. Press Association.— Telegraph.—Copyright. Melbourne, April 2. There appears to be strained relations between Rear-Admiral Lord Charles Scott and the Victorian Government. Some time ago a suggestion was made that a naval demonstration should be held on the arrival of the auxiliary fleet, and the proposition was favourably entertained by the Government, but when the matter was brought under the notice of the Admiral he replied in terms of manifest umbrage | at the interference of the Government l and intimated that he would make hi/ own arrangements for the reception ol the fleet.
