SALE OF BLOOD STOCK. Sydney, April 2, At the sale of Ilobartville yearlings, the top price was brought by the Trenton— Bridesmaid filly, sold to Mr. O'Brien, of Queensland, for .'MO guineas. The Trenton— ParseuSe filly was bought by the Hon. Mr. Wallace, of Victoria, for 250 guineas. The total amount realised by the sale was 2305 guineas. At the sale of Duokenfield Park yearlings, the chief prices were :Grandmaster— filly, 000 guineas, Mr. W. R. Wilson (Victoria); Grandmaster—Lalla Rookh colt, 510 guineas, Mr. A. Yuille (Victoria); Grandmaster—Crown Jewel colt, 400 guineas, Mr. \V. R. Hall (New South Wales). The total of the sale was 3315 guineas.

THE TARANAKI RACES. Nkw Plymouth, Thursday. For the second day's races there was splendid weather, and a largo attendance. The results were as follow — -* Hurdles. —Jupiter, 1; Whalebone, 2; Satyr, 3. Rentone, Scutcher, and Good Shot were the other starters. J upitor gotthe best of the start. Satyr being next quickest on his legs. Rentone ran off the second hurdle, and pulled up. Scutcher attempted to jump the saddling paddock gate, and received a bad cutting. At the quarter-mile from home Johnston brought Whalebone at Jupiter, but the latter drew {(way again, eventually winning by a length and a-half. Time, 3m. 2s. Dividend, £2. HANDSTAND Han-pica**, Seven furlongs.Huerfana, 1 ; La Petite Fille, 2; Weka, 3. Minnie and St. Malo were the other starters, Whisper, Loch Ness, Torpedo, Jenny, and Eileen being scratched. St. Malo got the best of tho start, and led for five furlongs, when the field closed up. Entering the straight Huerfana came with a magnificent rush, and won by a quarter of a-length, Weka beating St. Malo by a neck for third place. Time, lm. 31 2 nth s. Dividend, £2 17s. A protest entered by Weka's owner on the ground that the field was sent of in front of the post was dismissed. Scurry.— 1; Scamp, 2; Almour, 3. Twelve others ran. Won easily, Time, lm. 5 1 -sth s. Dividend, £4 lis. Jubilee Handicap, one mile and a-quarter. —Whisper, 1 : Loch Ness, 2; Torpedo, 3. Tamora and Eileen also faced the starter. Ma Petite Fille, St. Malo, Weka, Vendor, and Jenny were scratched. ' A good start was effected. Torpedo jumping to the front, with Loch Ness on his quarters, and Whisper bringing up the rear. At the mile post Whisper crept up to third place. Torpedo led round the home turn, when Whisper and Loch Ness cane at him. A slashing race ensued, but the daughter of Albany Tell-tale was not to be denied, and won by a short length, Loch Mess beating Torpedoby a quarter length. Time, 2in. 13 l-sth s. Dividend, £1 14 s. Pony Rack.—Poppy, 1; Lady Onslow, 2; Daisy, 3. Five others ran. Won easily. Dividend, £12 14s. Hack Rack. —Dura*), 1; Jupiter, 2; Christmas, 3. Eight others ran. Won by a couple of lengths. The annual interprovincial boat race, Over a two-mile course, between the Gisborne and Napier Rowing Clubs, was won by Gisborne by a length after a good race. At an informal mooting of the creditors in the Onslow Gold Company's estate held in Mr. C. E. Purchas' : office, Thames, yesterday morning, it was resolved to recommend Messrs. E. W. Hollis and 0. _E. Purchas for appointment as official liquidators to wind up tho affairs of the company. Tuesday next has been fixed by the Judge of the Supreme Court for the official appointment of the liquidators. -■ A conference of delegates of frozen meat companies meet in Wellington on Tuesday next for the purpose of discussing matters affecting their interests in carrying on their business. The passengers by the lonic on her next trip to London will include Messrs. W. H. I Levin, of Levin and Co., and N. Reid, of W. and (J. Tumbull and Co., Wellington.
