THE C.J.C. CHAMPAGNE STAKES.
Christchurch, Wednesday. Fifty-six nominations have been received for the C.J.C. Champagne Stakes of 1892, as compared with 48 for the Champagne of 1891. _
The committee of the Victorian Racing Club have accepted Mr. Barnard's resignation ns handicapper, and applications are invited for the position.
