Press Association.— Telegraph.— DR. KOCH'S REMEDY. - Brisbane, February 4. Five injections of Dr. Koch's consumptive lymph have been given to a patient suffering from consumption. No bad results were felt.

THE FEDERAL CONVENTION. Sydney, February 4. The arrangements for holding the Federal Convention are completed. Mr. Fredk. Win. Webb, clerk of the Legislative Assembly, has been appointed secretary. 4

PLEUROPNEUMONIA. Melbourne, February 4. Pleuro-pneumonia is very prevalent in some parts of the colony, and the stock inspector recommends that cattw be inoculated with anti-pleuro virus.

AN ADELAIDE TRAGEDY. Adelaide, February 4. # A painter named Lowenthal shot his wife three times, and a fourth time struck a baby she was nursing. The woman died, but the child is recovering.

MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. Melbourne, February 4. * The wool market is buoyant. Prices range on par to a farthing higher than the sales of a fortnight ago. Good combing Merinoes, greasy, brought up to lOfd ; ditto, washed fleeces, up to Is 2jd } greasy crossbreds, 8d to 9fd; scoured crossbreds, 10|d to lOjd.

SHIPPING. Sydney. February 4. Arrived: Elizabeth Graham, from the Bluff s.s. Te Kapo, from Wellington. The captain reported that when 60 miles east of the Heads he passed the barque Sharpshooter, from Noumea, with six feet of water in the hold. Offers of assistance were made to her, but these were declined, her crew stating that they could hold out for another 48 hours. ''.. The Sharpshooter arrived safely in harbour to-night. She sprang a leak on Monday. The pumps becoming choked, the water rose almost to the deck, when all hands took to baling with buckets. The sea going down about the time the Te Kapo was sighted, enabled the crew to partially block the leak, and the water was reduced. „ , Newcastle, February 4., Sailed : Bells, for Timaru.
