WOOL SALES.
The third of Messrs. Buckland and Sons' series of wool sales was held on the 14th January, at ten a.m., at the Haymarket. There was a large attendance of buyers, especially for the South. Prices ruled a shade lower, except for the very best quality of wools. Altogether 522 bales were sold, all being greasy. Shortly after one p.m. on the 14th of January the wool sale was proceeded with at Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's salerooms, when about 359 bales were offered, all consisting of greasy wool. The sale lasted about an hour, Mr. J. M. Philson acted as auctioneer. The second of Messrs. G. W. Binnev and Sons' series of wool sales was held on the 14th of January, at their offices, Fortstreet. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk. For wools of good quality prices ruled about the same as at the last sales; but for inferior wools prices were about a halfpenny lower. A quantity of low-priced lots were composed of wool passed at the last sale. 1 About 580 bales were disposed of
