COMMERCIAL TREATIES.
ACTION OF THE AGENTSGENERAL. Preu Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, January 23. The Agents-General had an interview-to-day with the Trade Committee of the Board of Trade, respecting the removal of commercial treaties between Great Britain and European Powers, when the committee, in reply to their representations, considered that the claim put forth on behalf of Victoria, to be allowed to make separate treaties with European Powers, was outside the combined instructions to the Agents-General. It is unlikely that the committee will advise the abrogation of the most favoured nation clauses in the treaties with Belgium and Germany, but will probably recommend that the colonies should possess the right to enter or remain outside the commercial treaties negotiated by Great Britain.
