COLONIAL LOYALTY.
SPEECH BY LORD CARRINGTON. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, January 23. Lord Carrington, speaking at a banquet given by the Lord Mayor of London, testified to the resolve of the Australian colonies to remain British at all hazards, and their determination to keep their Anglo-Saxon origin pure. Lord Carrington has contributed an article to the Times stating that the Australian Admiral's precedence was fixed wholly in the interests of colonists in the event of war, and was not intended to lower the rank of colonial Governors.
