At an early hour yesterday the s.s. Clansman arrived from Russell and the North, with passengers and general cargo. She left in the evening for Tauranga. The Union S.S. C 0.3 Waihora, with a good number of passengers and a general cargo, took her departure for the South and Melbourne, yesterday, at 2 p.m. The ship Machrihanish is lying in the stream ready to sail for London with a large cargo, but is detained because of a short crew. The ship Sobraon, just purchased by the N.S.W. Government, to replace the Vernon as a training school in the waters of Port Jackson, is a splendid vessel of 2131 tons register, and was built by Messrs. Alexander Hall and Sons, of Aberdeen, being launched in September, 1866.
