THE EQUITABLE INSURANCE COMPANY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 Greymouth, Monday. At a meeting of shareholders of the Equitable Insurance Company held to-night, the following resolution was passed unanimously : —" That in the opinion of the shareholders present the action of the general meeting of shareholders in increasing the saUry of directors on 3rd May, 1884, from *•«> Ms per fortnight to £7 per fortnight, though illegal, was done in good faith ; out this meeting declines to endorse the payment of £7 to directors, and calls on 'iose who have received such £7 to refund ue extra amount received by thorn."
