The impressive and very edifying ceremony of the renewal of baptismal vows took place in the Catholic Churches at Howick and Panmure on Sunday—in the former immediately after the eleven o'clock mass, and in the latter at tne evening devotions betoro benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. It was very gratifying to witness tho largo congregations in both churches, and one and all appeared to be much impressed with the ceremony. Miss Eva Brady read the form of renewal at Howick, and her clear, pleasing, and devotional enunciation was much praised by all present. She is a pupil of St. Mary's School, and does vory great credit to her painstaking teacher, Miss Mulken. The form afc St. Patrick's Church, Panmure, was read by Miss Nelly Gavin, a pupil of St. Patrick's School, efficiently conducted by Miss Honan and Miss Annie. Hogan. This little girl of tender years fairly surprised herself, and surprised the congregation by the effective manner iu which she acquitted herself. The pretty wreaths and white dresses worn by the children called forth many expressions of commendation from those present, and they could not but appreciate the great advantages to bo secured by a Christian education. The day was truly a red lubber day for both districts, and will be remembered with feelings of much gratification for many a long day to eoine. Monsignor McDonald presided on both occasions, and suitably addressed the children and friends. The very creditable etate of the churches aad cemeteries does much credit to his energy and good taste.
