THE LIQUOR TRAFFIC.
[BY telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Monday. In response to a circular issued from Napier, a meeting of those interested in the wine and' spirit trade, brewers, cordial and aerated water makers, and publicans, took place this afternoon. Very few were present, but at a meeting held later in the evening about 25 of those interested in the trades mentioned were preseut, including delegates from Christchurch and Napier. Mr. John Plummer, sen., was in the chair. Messrs. McCarthy and Kennedy, representing the brewers, J. Jack and T. W. Young, the wine merchants, J. L. Bacon, the cordial makers, and H. Sullivan, National Hotel, and J. Condon, Club Hotel. The publicans were selected a committee to draw up regulations for establishing an association on the lines laid down by the Napier meeting.
