MRS. BAEYERTZ'S MISSION.

Tiik farewell meeting of Mrs. Baeyertz'B mission was held yesterday evening in the Tabernacle, and was in the nature of a " holiness" meeting. There was a crowded attendance. The lady evangelist gave an address on "Holiness" from Romans vi., 9, 10, end 11, "For in that He died, He died unto sin once ; but in that He liveth. He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin, therefore, reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof." In a lucid and forcible address Mrs. Baeyertz defined holiness and how the blessing might be acquired, her views being of the orthodox tyDe uttered in nearly all the pulpits of this city, and were almost identical with those expressed by Mr. Varley, in his recent mission here. There were in the address none of the unsavoury features of " American Holiness." with which the Auckland public have been made painfully familiar, and in announcing the after meeting which closed her impressive addreais, Mrs. Baeyertz said, significantly, she wanted no "ranting," snouting, clapping, screaming, and thumping at her meetings, and would have none of it, but instead, quiet, order, reverence. Numbers of the people, in coming out, expressed their great satisfaction at the manner and spirit in which she had handled the subject. Mrs. Baeyertz has kindly consented to deliver an address to-morrow afternoon, in the City Hall, commencing at three o'clock. _ ' <
