Press Association — Electric Telegraph.—Covyright, [Received September 17, 7.35 p.m.] London, September 16. At the wool sales to-day 7000 bales were offered, most of which were of poor selection. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was of an animated character. The prices ruling were generally on a par with those of the July series. Crossbreds medium merinos had a slight upward tendency. Per A*<!io Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. '. London, September 16. Wool. —The Bales opened with spirit this day at the level of last sales. Attendance of both home and foreign buyers is good. Competition by both home and foreign buyers is active. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series, is 295,000 bales, 30,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct. Wheat.—The market is very weak. New Zealand, f.a.q., to arrive, August-Septem-ber bill of lading, per iron ship, is worth, c.i.f., 36s 6d per 4801b, nominal value. New Zealand, average and long-berried, is worth respectively Sua 6d and 36s Cd per 4!JOlb landed.
